The 30-years old Czech tennis player was a finalist in Shenzhen last week, where Timi was eliminated in the first round. Zakopalova was the favourite, and this is confirmed by the match, unfortunately.

In the first set Timi had a chance, although she didn’t led. The young Hungarian lost her first service game, after saving two break points, but Timi came back with a break at 1:2 and then she immediately lost the serve…

Zakopalova pulled away to 4-2, with more precise serve and baseline shots, but Timi was still able to come back in the match (4:4). Unfortunately, again, the much more routine Czech took advantage and won the 36-minute opening act.

The sequel was much smoother then established. Timi won her first game at 0:4. The percentage of first and second couldn’t go behind 50 percent (47 and 45 percent), while Zakopalova was very stable with the second (83 percent) serves.

Timi broke at 1:4, but she had no more chance.
