02/07/2018 – She is the first Hungarian female player in the top3.
Former World No1 Latisha Chan lost in the opening round of the Eastbourne tournament, so she could not defend her points from the 2017 season, when she was the Champion with Martina Hingis. This effected the fresh WTA Rankings: the Taiwanese player has moved from 3rd to 4th place.
And it means, that Timi jumped to Chan’s 3rd place. It is a new Career High for the 25-year old player. Timi is the first Hungarian female player in the top3.
In singles, she moved from the 37th to the 38th position, while she is 35th in the WTA Race. In doubles, Timi and Kristina Mladenovic leads the 2018 points rankings.
The Hungarian player was first a member of top10 on June 8, 2015, she was 10th. A week later, it was 9th, then on 22 June, she was 8th. After winning the WTA Finals last year, Timi was 7th, and after this year’s victory in the Australian Open in January she moved to the 5th place. On 2 April, she became 4th. All times, she improved the Hungarian Record.
