WTA Finals 2015: Hingis & Mirza won after a great battle

30/10/2015 – Timi and Mladenovic lost in 1 hour 31 minutes, they finished at the 3rd place of the Red Group.

“Today we played well, we had a good match! I think that this defeat is ended our tournament. The final standing will be decided by the last match of the group, but our poor first result does not help Us” – said Timi.


The Hungarian-French duo needed a supercilious victory for the semifinal. Timi and Kristina Mladenovic through fought really hard for success, they again showed, that they had a place among the best doubles in the world. However, the opponent was the World No1 pair, and they convince it in the most important moments of the match.

The Swiss-Indian duo was unbeaten since the start of the US Open, they won the last Grand Slam event of the season, then triumphed at Guangzhou, in Beijing and in Wuhan.


In Singapore, at the 41-minute first set Timi and her French partner saved 4 break points after 2:2. They kept with the opponent till 4:4. But at this stage, the World No1 pair lift up their performance.


Hingis and Mirza broke the rival to 30, they lived with the second break chance. And after that they won their service game from 15-30.


The second set was also interesting and close. In the fourt game Hingis and Mirza, then in the seventh game Timi and Mladenovic saved a break point. But after 5:5 came the deciding game. After little mistakes the Hungarian-Frenc pair lost their service game…


In the last game Mirza again saved a break point, then the Swiss-India pair finished the match.


Timi will close her season in November. She will play in Asia, in two WTA125’s event.
