A change in the field of the season-ending WTA Elite Trophy: shortly before the start of Tuesday’s program, Carla Suarez Navarro, withdrew. The Spaniard star is replaced by Timi!!!

“I just got the news that I can play in this tournament! Already it was an amazing feeling to be here in the WTA Elite Trophy! And it’s just unbelievable to Me that I can play! It’s a huge bonus, since most of the year this race was not included in the plans. Instead, I began to hope at the end of the season that I may have been included here. It’s the last event of the year: I want to enjoy the game and to finish with a really big smile the best season of My career! Of course, I want to thank Carla, I think it’s a real champion behavior, which She showed. She knew, she would not be able to play through the first match and she gave Me the opportunity. With all due respect, I wish for Her a speedy recovery from the wrist injury” – said Timi.

The 23-year-old Hungarian player will be included in the Camellia Group, an opponent of the Swiss Timea Bacsinszky and Zheng Shuai. The wild cardist Chinese player won the opening match 6:1, 6:1 against Bacsinszky.

“I have to withdrew because I have this pain in my right wrist. I’ve have this pain from two weeks ago, which forced me to retire from my last tournament in Moscow. I tried every means to make it possible to play this tournament, but sometimes being healthy is top priority. I feel really sad, because this tournament is a really good tournament, and we have a really good draw here. I wish all the players will enjoy the tournament. I’ll try to recover well first. I wish the tournament all the best” – wrote the Spanish player is her official statement.
