22/10/2013 – Timi started badly, but after 0:3 she won in two sets against the qualifier Elisabeth Fournier.
The World No 98 Hungarian player’s match lasted 1 hour and 22 minutes in Saguenay.

Timi missed several weeks and it was perceptible at the beginning. The qualifier, ranked 566th Canadian player began very well, won easily the first two service games and broke Timi to 15. Fournier had two break points at 3:0, but the first seed saved both of them and came back to the match.
At 3:2 Timi saved another break point and then won he next three games. The young Hungarian broke three times her opponent in the 46-minute first set.
In the second set the home player hold her opponent to 3:3, but at 4:3 Timi broke Fournier again. After that the first seed of the tournament won the last game from break point and advanced to the second round.
The Hungarian player ‘s next opponent will be the World No 414 Julia Boserup ( Timi overcame her in the 2011 Saguenay final). The 22-year old American player’s career best was 174th (04.09.2012). So far she won two IF tournaments: in 2011 in Redding (25 000), in 2012 in Santa Fe (25 000 USD). This year she was a semifinalist in Redding few week ago.
