10/07/2015 – The second pair of Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina won a dramatic battle in three sets against Timi and Kristina Mladenovic in the semifinal.
The match lasted 2 hours 5 minutes.

In the 32-minute first set, Makarova and Vesnina jumped to a 3:1 lead, they broke Mladenovic for the first time. The Hungarian-French duo equalized to 3:3, but after that came another break from the opponent…Mladenovic again couldn’t hold her service game, this time she lost that to 40…Then the Russians won their own service game to 40.
The fourth seed pair didn’t start well in the second set…The French youngster again lost her service game, then they saved three break points. (3:1). Fortunately, Timi and her partner bounced back, they won twice the opponent’s service game.
At 5:4 the Hungarian-French pair broke to 0.
Unfortunately, the beginning of the final set was terrible. Mladenovic lost her service game after 40-15, then at 2:0 Timi also couldn’t hold her service game, although she saved four break points…Makarova and Vesnina led 4:0 and it was crucial.
Timi and Mladenovic came back to 5:4, with a break and in the tenth game she they had a break point. But Makarova saved it with an ace, then she won the match with two great serves…
