Wimbledon 2014: fantastic wins in Ladies’ and MD

30/06/2014 – Timi and Kristina Mladenovic lost only only four games against Belinda Bencic and Tsvetana Pironkova.

The match lasted 61 minutes. In mixed doubles the 21-year old Hungarian player and Eric Butorac celebrated a fantastic triumph against Cara Black and Leander Paes. The meeting lasted 1 hour and 26 minutes.

“I finished a good day at Wimbledon today! I got into the last 16 in doubles and mixed doubles. In addition, We had a 24-times Grand Slam winner couple opponent standing in the next side of the net. I’m glad, I played well today”– Timi said after the second match.


At the beginning of the 24-minute first set the Bulgarian-Swiss double kept with the 14th seed opponent, but had no chance after 2:1. Timi and Kristina Mladenovic served and received well, and that brought a nice result. The Hungarian-French pair broke Bencic to 30, Timi had a wonderful volley then a great passing shot.


In the next gane the 21-year old Hungarian player saved a break point, after that she and Kiki won Pironkova’s service game to 40, lived with the fourth chance. Then the 21-year old French player hold her serve to 15.


At the beginning of the second set the Bulgarian-Swiss double served and received much better, at 2:1 they broke Timi to 30. After that the 14th seed Hungarian-French dup rised the level of the game and broke Bencic to 0. Then they won Pironkova’s service game to 15, to lead 4:3. Timi hold her serve to 15, and at 5:3 the Hungarian-French duo broke Bencic again, this time to 30.


Timi and Kiki will meet the World No 1 and title holder double of Su Wei Hsieh and Shuai Peng in the last 16.


After some rest and prepare Timi came back with Eric Butorac in mixed doubles. They played their sixth match together, meanwhile the opponent was the legends of tennis. Cara Black celebrated five, Leander Paes won six mixed doubles titles, together they won three times at a Grand Slam tournament.


In the 25-minute first set the much more experienced Zimbabwean-Indian duo played better, but the result could have been much closer as well. Timi and Eric Butorac had several break point, but they could not capitalize.


However the second and third set was brilliant for the Hungarian-American duo. Timi and her partner served amazingly well and have a lot of points as a receivers.


In the 25-minute second set the Hungarian-American double broke first time the opponent at 2:1. It brought a decisive change. Since then Timi and Butorac has been given no chance for the legendary opponent. In the eight game they broke again, this time to 0, so came the final set!


In the sixth game of the third set Timi and Eric Butorac won the service game of Paes, to 30. After that they cleverly hold their lead. In the last game the American player hit an ace at 40-30, so he finished the match.


In the next round Timi and Eric Butorac will meet the 15th seed pair of Samantha Stosur and Nenad Zimonjic (Australian and Serbian).
