Wimbledon 2014: defeat in singles in three sets

23/06/2014 – Timi lost in three sets against Naomi Broady in the first round of singles at Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament.

The match lasted 1 hour 53 minutes. On Wednesday the young Hungarian and Kristina Mladenovic will meet Karolina and Kristyna Pliskova in Ladies’ Doubles.

In the 29-minute first set Timi played well, she served almost perfectly and had good performance as a receiver. The 24-year old British rival made a lot of mistakes, she hit the ball inaccurately.

 

The Hungarian youngster broke the rival in the first game to 40, with a beautiful forehand passing shot. At 3:1 she won again Broady’s serve, then in the sixth game she saved three break points. After 5:2 Timi hold her service game to 15.

 

Unfortunately, the 51-minute second brought a turnaround. Broady served much better, she was more courageous and more accurate. Timi kept up with her opponent, but unfortunately did not get to a break point. In the tie-break the local player had four set points and she lived with the last chance at 8-7.

 

At the beginning of the third set Timi led 30-0, but she lost her service game, and after that Broady had the control. The British player saved two break point at 1:0, then she lived with the chances as a receiver. Broady had the self-confidence and she didn’t give any chance to the rival…
