Wimbledon 2014: a great victory in the quarter-final

03/07/2014 – Timi and Kristina Mladenovic won the three-sets match in the Wimbledon quarter-final against Alla Kudryavtseva and Anastasia Rodionova!

The match lasted 1 hour 34 minutes. The Hungarian-French duo’s opponent in the semifinal will be Andrea Petkovic and Magdalena Rybarikova (German, Slovak).

“It was a very difficult match! Unfortunately My partner did not play so well, she might be tired from yesterday’s matches. But who cares. Semifinaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal at a Grand Slam”– Timi said after the exciting and eventful quarterfinal.

 

In the second set Kudryavtseva and Rodionova was more accurate. Timi and Kiki came back with a break from 2:0 down, but then the French player immediately lost her service game. The Russian-Australian pair hold her advantage, and won the set in 33 minute.

 

In the third set at 2:2 Timi again lost her serve, but fortunately she and Kiki came back quickly. After that they broke the rival again, but the Hungarian youngster couldn’t hold the serve in the ninth game.

 

At 5:4 Rodionova served and had a 40-30 lead. But Timi and Kristina Mladenovic fought hard, they fray out a match ball. And the 21-year old Hungarian player hit wonderful shots and she finished the match with a good smash!

 

Timi is the first Hungarian player, who reached the semifinal in Ladies’ Doubles. So, this is a historical success.

 

The 14th seed Hungarian-French double will meet Andrea Petkovic and Magdalena Rybarikova in the semifinal.
