Two breaks decided, Timi lost in Birmingham

10/06/2013 – Timi not get past the first round of the 235 000 USD Aegon Classic grass track tournament, she lost in two sets against qualifier Nadiya Kichenok.

The meeting lasted 66 minutes.

Last week Timi played on clay in Marseille, she did hard fitness workouts to prepare for the tasks ahead. The Ukrainian player won two matches in the Birmingham qialies, she celebrated two significant victories.

 

Unfortunately Kichenok continued her good appearance on Monday, due to good serves. In the 32-minute first set the World No 165 broke her opponent at 3:2, this decided the fate of the first set.

 

Timi had break point at 5:3, but Kichenok saved it with an ace.

 

In the first part of the second set the Hungarian player hit four aces. But after 3:3 she hardly hold the service game, because of three double faults. However at 4:4 Kichenok again broke Timi, then sealed the victory in the next game.

 

Timi’s next tournament will be the Aegon International at Eastbourne, she will play in the qualies.
