Timi play with a wild-card in Slovakia, and her first opponent also got WC for the main draw. It was an easy match, without no bigger excitements.
At the beginning of the 20-minute opening act, Timi won her opponent’s serve to 30, then saved her own game from a break point. She did not lost a rally in the next receiver’s game, then broke Stara to 15 after 4:0. In the last game of the first set, the local player won a single rally.
The first period of the second set brought a surprise. Timi broke twice (to 30, then to 40), but immediately lost that advantage. She lost her serve to 40, then to 30. After 2:2 Timi lost one rally in each game, smoothly advanced to the second round.
The Hungarian player’s next opponent will be Laura Siegemund.
