The 57-minute first set brought a big battle, with a minimum difference in favor of Siegemund.
In the fourth game, the German player saved a total of four break points after 30-40, which later proved to be important. In the ninth game, Siegemund took the lead to 40-0, and then won the opponent’s serve.
Timi immediately replied, broke to 30, but unfortunately, in the next game she won only a single rally behind the serves. Then, Siegemund finished the opening act to 15.
At the beginning of the second set, both players held their serves, but unfortunately only till 2:2. At that time, Timi saved two break points, but in the end she lost her serve in a big battle.
Siegemund then brought her own game smoothly (4:2) and then led to 30-0 as a receiver. Timi came up to 30-30, but eventually she couldn’t hold her game. In the next game, the Hungarian player dropped to 30-0 and then to 40-15. Timi took advantage of the second break chance (3:5), then saved a match point in the next game after 30-40. After Timi’s advantage, the German player had the second chance for the QF, but she could not lived with that chance. Timi finally hold her serve.
In the next game, Siegemund led to 40-0 and finally used the fourth match point.
