Timi served well and played dangerously as a receiver during the 73-minute match.

 

She began the 40-minute opening set with a break (won Krejčíková’s serve to 30), then hold that lead till 5:3. It was importnt, that Timi saved her serve from 30-40 in the sixth game. And in the ninth game, she broke her opponent again, this time to 15. So, she closed the opening act.

 

The second set did not bring a turn.

 

Timi won her service games, then broke her opponent twice in the second part of the second act. She won Krejčíková’ serves twice to 30. So, the Hungarian player advanced to the second round.

 

Timi’s next opponent will be the 5th seeded, World N47 Ekaterina Alexandrova.

 

The Russin player (born: 15 November, 1994 in Prague) has a career best position of 45th (15 July, 2019). So far, Alexandrova has won 2 WTA125s and 7 ITFs in Singles. This year, she reached the 3rd round at the Roland Garros, this is her best result at a Grand Slam tournament.
