16/01/2017 – The 23-year old Hungarian player improved 5 places, thanks to the Sydney triumph with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
It brought so much points: winning the Apia International in Sydney, gives boost for Timi at the WTA Doubles Rankings. The Hungarian youngster improved 5 places after the 776 000 USD event, now she is back to the top10, she is ranked 10th. Her partner, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova moved from the 110 position to the 76th.
Timi is again close the her Hungarian record. The 23-year old player was 8th on 22 June 2015, after the Birmingham quarter-final. This is her career best position in doubles.
Thanks to the Sydney success, Timi and Pavlyuchenkova is the best team – with Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Sania Mirza – at the 2017 Race to the WTA Finals.
Timi is ranked 28th in singles. She began her Australian Open campaign on Tuesday, against Nicole Gibbs (USA), from 1 H CET.
