20/04/2013 – The World No 114 Timea Babos booked her place in the second round of the qualifying tournament in Marrakech, after won in three sets against Olga Savchuk.
The match lasted 120 minutes. The Hungarian player’s next opponent will be the French Aravane Rezai.

The more experienced Ukrainian played with incredible accuracy behind the first serve in the 37-minute first set. Savchuk won 14 out of 14 (!) rallis after the first successful serves, so she didn’t give a chance for a break.
At 1:1 Timi saved three break points, but stopped at 3:3. The Ukrainian wasted two more break points, but she won the lived with the sixth chance. Then Savchuk won smoothly the next service games, so she moved a set ahead.
In the 38-minute second act Timi served perfectly, received much better. The Hungarian player is now dealt with in accordance with the rival’s first serves. Timi broke hardly the Ukrainian at 1:0 and easily at 5:2, so she smoothly equalized.
Unfortunately, at the beginning of the third set, at 1:1 Savchuk took her opponent’s serve to 0. In the next game Timi had five break points, and she equalized with the last chance. Then she had a 5:2 lead and three match points. But Savchuk hold her service game and at 5:3, the Ukrainian saved the next three match points…But Timi had another chance and she lived with the seventh match point.
The young Hungarian’s next opponent will be the Iranian origin, but French Aravane Rezai. The 26-year-old is currently ranked only 184th, but she was 15th two and hald years ago (11.10.2010). Rezai won four WTA singles titles and was a finalist three other times. In the 2013 season, before Marrakech the French played in three tournaments, but never reached the main draw.
