Timi smoothly won in the opening round

30/10/2013 – While she still not fully recovered from her illness, Timi easily reached the second round against Nicole Rottmann in the 50 000 USD ITF tournament in Toronto.

The World No 95 Hungarian youngster will meet Alexandra Mueller int he last 16.

“I liked my game today, I played very aggressively. There was a bit of error in it, but it’s okay because this was my game. Last week I suffered a lot because of my illness,  I could not really play what I wanted . This week will be also tough but I am confident that I can pull myself together” – Timi said.

 

Timi pointed out before the first match in Toronto, that the viral disease, sore throat and cough thoroughly made her life difficult in recent times, and still does not feel herself perfectly . Fortunately, this did not seem against Rottmann , she celebrated a very smooth win.

 

The 20-year-old Hungarian player defeated Rottmann in the second round of the 2011 tournament in Toronto 6:3, 6.3, then won 6:2, 6:4 against the Austrian in Helsinki.

 

This time, only the second set was tight , but it was also won by Timi, so she can continue the Canadian event.

 

The Hungarian player ‘s next opponent , Alexandra Mueller is ranked 411st, her career best was 280th in 06.07.2009. During her career she has won 7 ITF singles tournaments, this year she celebraed in Buffalo (10 000 USD). In the 2013 season she was a semi-finalist in Gainsville (10 000 USD), she reached the last eight in Sumter (10 000 USD), she was recently a finalist at Amelia Island (10 000 USD), and Hilton Head Island (10 000 USD).
