Timi retired due to injury in Monterrey

05/03/2015 – Timi retired after just five games due to injury in the first round of the doubles at the 500 000 USD WTA tournament in Monterrey.

The Hungarian player and Kristina Mladenovic led 4:1 against Lara Arruabarrena and Raluca Olaru.

 

Timi got treatment after the third game, and she was able to continue. Then the Hungarian-French duo broke Olaru to 40, and Mladenovic hold her own service game to 15. But after that Timi indicated that she could not continue the match.

 

“Unfortunately, today was difficult to warm up my “not healthy” back in 6 degrees. Sorry for the doubles this week, but Indian Wells is more important. Thus, We have thought, that the retirement is a better decision. We tried, We led 4:1, but unfortunately that’s for now”– Timi said.
