The match lasted 63 minutes in Monterrey.

Earlier, Timi and Broady met three times, and every time the match was decided in three sets. This time, it was much shorter and much smoother, the Hungarian player celebrate a very impressive success.

 

Timi excellently started the 31-minute first set. After the first confident service game, she broke her opponent to 30, then jumped to a 3:0 lead. Broady hold her next service game to 40, but after that, she had no chance as a receiver. Timi won her serve to 30, then to 15. And at 5:3, she won her service game to 30, after 0-30.

 

In the first game of the second set, Timi played again bravely, and she broke Broady to 40. It was a good tone for the rest of the set. Although, she has only 4 aces (in the opening round she had 13 aces), but she dominated her service games. At 3:1, she won her opponent’s service game to 40, and it certainly finished the match.

 

Towards the end of the meeting, Timi won two service games to 0, she finished the match with an ace.

 

The Hungarian player’s next opponent will be her permanent doubles partner, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

 

The second seed Russian player is ranked 16th, her career best position was 13 (4 July, 2011). So far, she has won 8 WTA and 5 ITF singles competition, she triumped at the Mexican tournament in 2010, 2011 and 2013. She was quarter-finalist at all Grand Slam event: at the Australian Open in 2017, at the Roland Garos in 2011, at Wimbledon in 2016 and at the US Open in 2011. This year she reached the last eight in Sydney (Australia, 776 000 USD, hard court) and Indian Wells (USA, 7 669 423 USD, hard court).

 

The two players have never met in singles.
