02/03/2019 – The Croatian coach worked almost six months with the Hungarian player.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE TIMI TEAM:
“It is with a heavy heart to announce but my coach, Nick Horvat and I split amicably. Nick is an amazing person, I have nothing but respect for him, both as a coach and more importantly, a human being. Although we only spent a short time together, I still cherish my memories with Nick and I will always have a soft spot for him in my heart. For now, our journey is leading us separate ways but I am sure we will both find success. Thank you for the 2019 AO doubles finals, for believing in me and thank you for being positive😘
With the result of the work, Timi and Kristina Mladenovic again played in the Women’s Doubles final at the Australian Open.
“I am very grateful and honoured that I had the opportunity to work with @timeababos . She is an amazing tennis player, a champion and, most importantly, a great person. Even though we decided to part ways, this short but intensive time of working together gave us both a very valuable experience and it surely raised the standards of my future coaching work. Sometimes life just doesn’t go as planned, but we believe it’s always for a greater reason. I will always be grateful to Timi for my first coaching seat on a Grand Slam Final, it was simply unforgettable! There is no doubt in my mind that Timea has many great tennis moments ahead of her, I will always follow her success with a smile and with a belief that I was a small part of it.” – said Nick Horvat.
