Saguenay: Timi lost the semifinal

26/10/2013 – Timi lost in three sets against the seventh seed Tunisian Ons Jabeur in the semifinal of the 50 000 USD ITF tournament at Saguenay.

Ons Jabeur (Tunisian, 7)-Timea Babos (Hungarian, 1) 7:6 ( 7-4 ), 4:6, 6:1

 

“I’m sorry for today’s match. The opponent played very well, I’m fairly . Unfortunately, during the whole week I struggled with illness . I coughed all the way, so I wasn’t able to train enough. This in turn was showing a bit of my game today. I felt better in the last 12 days, so I hope that in the coming weeks my game will be better” – Timi said.

 

The World No 98 Hungarian player lost one set in the previous three rounds, int he quarterfinal she won without losing her serve. This time , unfortunately, it did not happen. The first and the second set was also very tight, but int he third set Jabeur was clearly th ebest player on the court.

 

The 20-year-old Hungarian player had 8 aces and 4 double fault sin the semifinal. Timi had two, while Jabeur three breaks. The Tunisian won 5 balls more int he match.

 

Next week Timi will play in Toronto (ITF, 50 000 USD).
