Timi had the lead, but lost in singles

09/09/2013 – The third seed, this year’s Bad Gastein tournament winner, runner-up in Budapest Yvonne Meusburger won the three-set match against Timi.

The meeting lasted 1 hour 32 minutes.

Yvonne Meusburger (Austrian, 3)-Timea Babos (Hungarian) 2:6, 6:2, 6:1

“Unfortunately it was not succeeded today … I played well in the first set , I played well for a long time in the second set, my tennis worked well. But then I lost my second return game from two break points…But it was not my fault. After that I lost a silly service game, then came a long service game, when she broke me again. 4:1 for her, but it easily could be 3:2 for me…I think, I began to panick, I feel, that I lost the game with a good performance. So I started to make mistakes, I had bad decisions. And she made less and less mistakes. Meusburger is a very stable player, she is able to go through the same standard . It was the crucial difference . I hope I learn from this match. If I began to play more and more in this high level play, in the future I will win these kind of meetings” – Timi said after the match.

It is an aching defeat, because the World number 107 Hungarian played very well for more than one set, she had a good chance of winning.
