Timi & Gajdosova smoothly won in doubles

Timi and Jarmila Gajdosova confidently won, lost only two games in the first round of the doubles tournament in the 250 000 USD Rio Open.

The third seeds match lasted 51 minutes against Florencia Molinero and Laura Thorpe in the clay court event. On Tuesday Timi will debut in singles in the city of the 2016 Summer Olympics against the South African Chanelle Scheepers.

“It is good that a began the tournament with doubles, I played on clay long ago. I changed my game a little for clay. It was good to play with Jarka! She is a very nice person, I think, our game fits as well. I am waiting for the singles also” – Timi said.

 

In the opening game of the 27-minute first set Timi (No 27 in doubles ) and Jarmila Gajdosova (108) immediately got two break balls and they lived with the second chance. This has been determined by the sequel : Molinero (151) and Thorpe (88) had no chance for a turnaround.

 

The Hungarian-Australian dual lost their service game just once (at 4:1) , but they broke the rival three times. Timi and Gajdosova very smoothly won the eight game and the firs set.

 

The third seed began the second set with a break, they lived with the second chance. They lost only one point in the next game, and then came another break (3:0) .

 

The Hungarian-Australian  didn’t stop, they held the control, and easily won the next three games. Timi and Gajdosova lived with the second match point.

 

The Hungarian-Australian pair ‘s next opponent will be Irina-Camelia Begu and Maria Irigoyen (Romanian, Argentinian) or Alexandra Cadantu and Silvia Soler-Espinosa (Romanian and Spanish).
