The draw changed twice: a Spanish opponent in Bogota

08/04/2019 – The 11th seeded Lara Arruabarrena is 102nd in the World Rankings.

On Saturday, the main draw was made at the 250 000 WTA Tour event in Bogota: Timi’s opponent was Tatjana Maria. On Sunday, however, the Croatian Petra Martić and Tatjana Maria resigned, so the new opponent was the 10th seeded Ivana Jorović. The Serbian player also stepped back, so the new opponent for Timi is the 11th seeded Lara Arruabarrena.

 

The 25-year old Hungarian player is 142nd on the World Rankings.

 

The Spanish player (born: 20 March, 1992) is 102nd list of the WTA, has a career best position of 52nd (3 July 2017). So far, Arruabarrena has won 2 WTA Tour, 1 WTA125 and 12 ITF tournament in singles.

 

The two players have met three times so far: Arruabarrena has won in 2013 in Eastbourne 6:4, 6:4, in 2015 in Nuremberg 6:2, 7:5, and last year at the Roland Garros, 7:6, 6:3.
