The match lasted 1 hour and 3 minutes in Tashkent.
“I’m happy to get into the semifinal in singles again. I feel like I’m playing well today. Yesterday I was a little unlucky with the rain, but today I’m lucky We could finish the match” – said Timi.
In the 27-minute opening act, Timi led 4:0, she lost a total of three rallies. The Hungarian player broke into 15 and then to 0. In the fifth game, Voegele won the second seed’s serve to 15, then hold her own serve to 40 (4:2).
Timi then returned to the good road, winning the next service game to 15, then after 5:3, she did not lose a rally as a receiver.
At the beginning of the second set, the Hungarian player broke her opponent two times to 30, but after 3:0, there was a small downhill. Voegele broke her rival to 30, then saved three break points. Luckily after 3:2 there was no new turn, Timi again played well and served well.
After 3:2 and 4:3, the Hungarian player won her serve to 0. Voegele came back to 5:4, but after that Timi finished the QF to 30, she used her second match point.
The second seeded Hungarian player will meet Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinal.
The Belarusian player (born: 5 May, 1998) is 119th in the world rankings, with a career best position of 110th (14 August, 2017). Up to now, she has won 5 ITFs, this year she remained unbeaten in Shenzhen (China, 60 000 USD, hard court).
