|Tímea Babos, Andrea Hlaváčková (Hungarian, Czech, 1)-Nao Hibino, Oksana Kalashnikova (Japanese, Georgian) 7:5, 6:4|
The match lasted 1 hour 18 minutes at Tashkent.
“I’m glad that We won another tournament in doubles. That was our goal, which We managed to accomplish” – said Timi.
The 24-year old Hungarian player was a Champion at Tashkent in 2013 with Yaroslava Shvedova (Kazakhstan), and this year she could celebrate this after the final.
In the 44-minute opening act Hibino and Kalashnikova hold their serve to 40 after 1:1, then had two break points. The Hungarian-Czech pair saved both chances, then led 40-15 as a receiver. However, the Japanese-Georgian pair won the game, but after 3:3, Timi and her partner broke the opponent.
The advantage quickly disappeared, Hibino and Kalashnikova won the rival’s serve to 40, then brought their own to 40. Timi and Hlaváčková broke again to 40 after 5:5, then finished the first act to 30.
The second set was very tight. Timi and her Czech partner broke the opponent to 40, after 1:1, and this time they hold that lead. They were close to a decisive break, but without another success. The Japanese-Georgian pair saved the fifth game from 0-40, then the seventh game from 15-40.
Fortunately, missed chances did not bother the first-seeded pair! Timi and Hlaváčková were already confident behind the serves, and they finished the final to 30, after 5:4.
Timi won her 14th doubles title at the WTA Tour, and she had seven more finals. In January this year, in Sydney, she remained unbeaten with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (Russia), then she triumphed in Rabat, Quebec City and Tashkent with Andrea Hlaváčková.
