The match lasted 1 hour and 43 minutes.
In the opening game of the 38-minute first set, Timi won her opponent’s serve to 15 and then led 3:1. After that Sanders brought her serve to 40 and then broke to 40, though his opponent had two balls for 4:2. Fortunately, the Hungarian player responded immediately, taking the Australian tennis player’s serve to 30.
There were no another turn in the opening act: after 5:4, Timi brought her serve to 30.
In the second act, after 1:1, the Hungarian player broke twice (to 15, then to 40), her opponent once (to 15). At 3:5, Sanders brought her serve from two matchballs, then broke to 40 in a big battle … and a tie-break was coming soon.
In the tie-break, cut, the Australian led 5-3, then to 6-4 after two receiver’s points. Timi cleared both set balls and had two match points. She lost that chances, but there was another one, now the fifth QF ball. This has already closed the meeting!
