Taipei: successful quarter-final

15/11/2019 – Timi won in three sets against the British opponent.

Tímea Babos (Hungarian, 2)- Naiktha Bains (British) 6:4, 4:6, 6:3

The match lasted 2 hour and 19 minutes.

The 2nd seeded Hungarian player started well, leading 3:0 and 4:1 by winning Bains’ serve in the second game to 30. Unfortunately, after 4:2, Timi only won two rallies behind the serves, and soon the score was 4:4. Luckily the Hungarian player was the most accurate again: she won her serve to 15 and broke to 30.

The 48-minute second set brought an even closer and bigger battle. Bains immediately won the service game of the 2015 Taipei Open Champ, and then smoothly brought her own game. Timi dominated the next three games (broke to 15 at 1:2) and then had two balls for the 4:2 lead. Unfortunately, the British player brought her organ and then came a very long game. Timi led 40-15 and could close the game five times. Finally Bains broke …

After that, the receivers had no chance, so the second act ended. Bains won her serve to 0 after 5:4.

In the final set the Hungarian player led 3: 0 and in the second game she broke to 30. Her opponent then played very well behind the serves and as a receiver, and then equalized to 3:3. Fortunately, the sequel has gone smoothly! Timi won the next two game to 0, then brought her serve to 30.

The next opponent of the Hungarian player will be Viktoriya Tomova, who is seeded 8th.

The Bulgarian player (born: 25 February, 1995) is 160th in the World Rankings and has a career best position of 128th (16 July 2018). So far she has won 15 ITF tournaments in Singles.
