In the 2016 season the Hungarian-German pair was semifinalist in Dubai, and then reached the QF in Doha. Since then, the two players have entered a different way, Timi is 3rd, while Görges is 289th in the world rankings. This time, they went to work together to prepare for the Australian Open.

 

In the 33-minute first set, Guarachi and Routliffe broke to 40 after 3:3, and after 5: 4 they won their service game to 40. So the opening act was closed.

 

In the 21-minute second set, Timi and Görges played much better, so they easily equalized. The Hungarian-German pair broke their opponents to 15. Then they hold their serve to 15 in the seventh game.

 

In tie-break, Timi and Goerges took a big lead after 2-2, scored 8-3. Guarachi and Routliffe then came up 8-5, the next two rallies was won by the Hungarian-German double.

 

The qualifying round ended on Monday, deciding that Timi’s opponent will be Bianca Andreescu.

 

The Canadian player (born on June 16, 2000) is ranked 152th, had a career best position of 143th (14 August, 2017). So far, Andreescu has won 3 ITF tournaments in singles.

 

Last year at the first round of Canadian Open, Timi won 6:4, 6:1 against the Canadian player.
