19/06/2019 – After the relatevily easy opening act, Timi won the second set after a close battle.

The match lasted 1 hour and 19 minutes.
In the first 27-minute set, the 26-year-old Hungarian player served confidently, and her opponent had only two winning point in a game, at best. After 2:1 Timi won Kerkhove’s game after 30-15.
At the end of the set, the Hungarian player brought her own game to 30, using the second set point.
The second act was much closer. Timi won her serve from a break point at 1:2, then broke the Dutch payer after 3:3. Unfortunately, the next game was brought by Kerkhove to 40. Then the Dutch player did not lost a rally int he netxt two own game. Luckily, Timi has done well at this stage, also.
At the beginning of the tie-break, Timi won a receiver’s point, but the lost twice her serve. The Hungarian player improved in time, broke her opponent twice after 3-4, the won her next serves.
Timi’s opponent in the second round will be the 7th seeded Lin Zhu.
The Chinese player (born: 28 January, 1994) is 104th in the World Rankings, has a career best position of 93rd (25 February, 2019). Lin Zhu has won 9 ITF tournaments in singles.
The two players have met once before: in 2013, Timi won 6:4, 6:4 in Suzhou (China).
