Smooth victory in the semifinal

13/09/2013 – Timi and Yaroslava Svedova confidently defeated the Valeria Savinyikh – Maria-Teresa Torró-Flor duo.

The Kazakh-Hungarian pair has lost only four games in the 55-minute meeting. Timi and Svedova in Saturday’s final will meet the second seed pair of Olga Govortsova and Mandy Minella.

“Today’s Friday the 13th was good for me! I got into the main draw of the next tournament, and even reached the final in doubles. I’m glad too! We play well with Slava. I looking forward to the final tomorrow” – Timea Babos said after Friday’s semifinal.

 

The first seeds of the Tashkent Open dominated the meeting, gave their opponents no chance. In the 28-minute first set Timi and Shvedova broke at 1:1, and then repeated the same at 4:2. The Hungarian-Kazakh duo won the eighth game to 15, in the first hal fon hour the rival’s couldn’t get a break point.

 

In the second set Timi and Shvedova easily pulled out o 4:0, the rival only won one-one point as a server and a receiver. Then Savinyikh and Torró-Flor won two service games, but had no chance to translate the semifinal. In the last game Shvedova hits two double faults, but won the game to 40 to reach the semifinal with the young Hungarian.

 

Timi and Svedova in Saturday’s final will meet the second seeds, Olga Govortsova and Mandy Minella.

 

The 25-year old Govortsova is ranked 62nd in doubles, her career best was 24th in 08.29.2011. During her career she has won eight WTA tournament in doubles: in 2008 in Istanbul (Co: Jill Craybas ), in 2009 in Guangzhou and Tashkent (Co: both times Tatiana Pouchek), in 2010 in Beijing (Co: Chuang Jia Chung ), in 2011 in Memphis and Birmingham (Co: both times Alla Kudryavtseva ) and New Haven (Co: Chuang Jia Chung), while in 2012 in Strasbourg (Co Klaudia Jans-Ignacik ).

 

The Belarusian player this season has not excelled in doubles , before the Tashkent Open she only won wo game sin one tournament only in Brussels with Alicja Rosolska.

 

Timi’s former permanent doubles partner, Mandy Minella is in 70th position , her career best was 47th back in 29th of April. During her career she has won two WTA doubles competition : this year in Bogotá and Marrakech with the 20-year-old Hungarian player! Before that Timi and Mandy Minella was a finalist in Hobart, Australia.

 

The Hungarian player’s current partner, Yaroslava Shvedova won in 2010 at Wimbledon US Open with Vania King. The top ace of Kazakhstan celebrated in 2009 in Pattaya City (Co : Tamarine Tanasugarn ) , in Washington in 2011 (Co: Sania Mirza ), Cincinnati (Co: King ), Moscow (Co: King ) and in 2013 at Florianopolis (Co: Anabel Medina Garrigues ).
