“I cry a little bit of an eye, but the other is smiling!!! I’m very happy that we won and we revenged for the Wimbledon final. It was a great match. However, unfortunately I can not play singles in New Haven … A custom workout day tomorrow, and then we will continue on Saturday”– Timi said.

In the 30-minute first set the serves were not gave much advantage, Timi and Mladenovic didn’t held a sngle service game…So they in vain managed to get back from 1:0 and 2:1. Although they had chances to be much closer.

But after the first set the Hungarian-French double played much better. In the 26-munte second set they broke the rival twice and they constantly hold the lead. The Italians won a game at 5:0, but then Timi won her service game to 15.

The tie-break brought a much more “crazier” scenario, in which the serve was again not an advantage. Timi and Mladenovic lost five rallies after a serve, but they had a huge chance till 8-8.

Then the Hungarian-French pair broke again the Italians and they won the last rally, so they advanced to the semifinal.

Timi and Mladenovic will meet Kimiko Date-Krumm and Andrea Hlavackova in the next round. The Japanese-Czech pair won the quarterfinal 7:5, 6:3 against Garbine Muguruza and Carla Suarez-Navarro.
