17/05/2017 – The Hungarian-Czech pair came back 2:5 in the second set.

The match lasted 1 hour and 16 minutes in the Italian capital.


The crowd saw a two, very different set by the Rabat Champion and Madrid finalist Hungarian-Czech pair.


The second set has taken a much bigger battle. In the opening game, Arruabarrena and Parra-Santonja hold their serve from 30-40, then they won the Hungarian player’s serve to 30. After that, Timi and Hlaváčková fought hard, but the opponent jumped to a 5:2 lead.


Then came the latest and final turn. At 5:3, Timi and her Czech partner broke the rival to 15, and they did not slow. In the next two games they lost only 4 rallies (2 and 2 behind the serves and as a receiver). Then at 6:5 they won the last game to 30, so they reached the QF.


In the next round Timi and Andrea Hlaváčková will meet Kateryna Bondarenko and Kateřina Siniaková.
