“I’m happy with today’s victory! It was a little bit difficult to finish the match, than We would have liked. We played very well, and as We have said before, We do not have to show our best tennis in the opening round. Just show that We can play well. I’m happy to win in two sets. I think it was very good for the first round. Especially, that We did not succeed in singles. I did not come out on the court yesterday, I was resting in the hotel. I’m happy to play well today. Our goal is to win the tournament! I work a lot for this: I got back to the gym today, I ran in the morning, I’m already preparing for the grass court season. But in tennis, the goal is to win the Roland Garros” – Timi.

Timi begans her first WD match at the Roland Garros as a Grand Slam Champ and as a 1st seeded player, first time in her career.

The Hungarian-French team, apart from a part of the end period of the second set, played better throughout at the most important moments.

In the 27-minute first set, Timi and Kristina Mladenovic hold their first own game to 40, then broke the opponent to 30. After that, the Australian-Chinese pair lost her serve to 30, again, then broke the opponent to 4:1. Fortunately, the Hungarian-French double broke again to 30, then lost only two rallies in the seventh game.

At the beginning of the second act, after 1: 1, Timi and her partner won the opponent’s serve to 0, then in the fifth game to 40. The Hungarian-French pair also managed to reach 5:1 when it came to a small bad period.

In the seventh game, Tomljanovic and Zhang saved two match points, and then broke Timi, to 30. Luckily after 5:4, Kristina Mladenovic brought her serve to 0,and finished the match.
