The match lasted 1 hour 56 minutes in Paris.


“It was a great match! Our opponent played well, and they surprised by their game. Even though We met in Madrid, We won even easily. Melichar served very well. But overall I’m glad We could fight and come back, and We’ve been able to get through difficult situations. It is very positive as I played in the last games. As We progressed to the end, My performance improved and improved. I took control in my hands, practically I did not make any mistakes. I did very well, I hit two excellent returns. I am very happy, since sometimes I miss the chances in singles, I must be more aggressive and courageous. That was really right now. I look forward to the next round” – said Timi.


The Hungarian-French pair started badly: in the 31-minute opening set they lost their first service game to 15, then after 0:2, they must hold their own game from 15-40. Fortunately, this time, with success.


The American-Czech team won the next game after 30-30, then led to 30-0, as a receiver. Timi and Kristina Mladenovic finally brought their serves, then came two smooth service games. In the eighth game, the Hungarian-French pair reached 40-40, unfortunately, not further.

In the second game of the second act, Timi and Mladenovic finally came to a break point, but failed to take advantage of the chance. In the fourth game, the Hungarian-French pair broke the opponent to 15, then hold their own game from 15-40. Melichar and Peschke won the next game to 40, then the first seeds won their game to 0, then broke the rival to 15.


In the decisive set, Timi and Kristina Mladenovic saved the opening game from 15-40, then Melichar and Peschke turned back from 0-30. In the fourth game, the US-Czech team led 40-0, but the first seeds broke to 40. Unfortunately, in the next game, Timi and Kristina Mladenovic lost their serve from 40-30, then Melichar and Peschke brought their own serve to 15 (3:3).


In the seventh game, the Hungarian-French pair led to 40-0, and then must face a break point. Finally, in a big battle, they’ve managed to bring the important game. Then Timi and Kristina Mladenovic broke the rival to 15, but in the next game, Melichar and Peschke had two break chances. Unfortunately, the second chance was used by the US-Czech double …


In the end, the Hungarian-French team with their best. They easily hold the serve, then led 40-15. Melichaf and Peschke saved the match points, but Timi and Kristina Mladenovic won the third opportunity. So the Hungarian player first made a QF in WD at the Roland Garros!


Timi and Kristina Mladenovic will meet in the next round,  Eri Hozumi and Makato Ninomiya.
