Roland Garros 2017: confident start in doubles

31/05/2017 – After 4:3 the Hungarian-Czech pair has won eight games in a row.

ROLAND GARROS (GRAND SLAM EVENT, 36 000 000 EURO, CLAY), WOMEN’S DOUBLES, 1ST ROUND
Tímea Babos, Andrea Hlaváčková (Hungarian, Czech, 5)-Tessah Andrianjafitrimo, Amandine Hesse (French) 6:3, 6:0

The match lasted 1 hour 8 minutes in the French capital.

The 5th seed pair started well in the 43-minute first set, they broke the opponent to 30, and 40, led 4:0. However, the French double had improved considerably. Andrianjafitrimo and Hesse won the opponent’s serve with the fifth chance after 4:1, then in the eight game, had a break point to 4:4. Timi and her Czech partner saved their serve, then broke the local pair after 40-15 in the next game. So the fifth seeds finished the opening act.

The second set was smooth and without major surprise.

Timi and Hlaváčková served very well, they lost four rallies in three games. And they received well, also. The Hungarian-Czech pair broke the French double twice to 0, then finished the match with a break to 40.

In the second round Timi and Andrea Hlaváčková, will meet the pair of Raluca Olaru and Olga Savchuk.
