Roland Garros 2015: farewell in MD after a great fight

02/06/2015 – Timi and Alexander Peya lost after a huge battle, in Champion’s Tie-break in the quarter-final.

The match lasted 1 hour 31 minutes.

“For me, unfortunately, the Roland Garros is ended for this year. The results could have been better, but I’m very happy, that I was able to play again there. I’m enriched with great experiences. Thank you for the support, for the lot of encouragement! We’ll meet next year RG” – said Timi.

 

In the 46-minute opening set Hradecka and Matkowski broke Peya to 30 at 1:0, and later it proved decisive. The Hungarian-Austrian pair broke back immediately, and till 6:6 they kept the pace with the opponent.

 

In the tie-break Timi and Peya led with an early break, but after 4-4 they lost three rally in a row.

 

The 32-minute second set was formed more smoothly. Timi and Peya led 5:1 with two breaks. But after that the Austrian player lost his serve, Hradecka and Matkowski came back to 5:3. But then Timi served very well, she hold her service game to 30. So came the all important Champions Tie-break.

 

In the tie-break the Hungarian-Austrian pair led several times with a break, then they were two point away from the semifinal. But after 8-6 the opponent played better and they advanced to the last 4.

 

Next week Timi will play on grass at s’Hertogenbosch (Netherlands, 250 000 USD): in singles and in doubles with Kristina Mladenovic.
