I’m sorry, really! I will play Mixed Doubles, but it will be a preparation for the grass, for s’Hertogenbosch”– said Timi.

Timi and her partner got difficult opponent for the second round, because a few years ago Stosur and Hantuchova was in the top players in this genre. The Australian player has twice won a Grand Slam event and she is a former World No1.

Unfortunately, they showed their class in the second round at the Roland Garros. Especially Stosur played very well, she had a superior performance.

There was hope at the beginning of the second set! Timi and her partner broke Hantuchova after 1:1 to 30, but that lead didn’t last long…Mladenovic had game points to 3:1, but instead of that, she lost her service game…And after 3:2 Timi also lost her serve, to 15…This is proved fatal.

The Hungarian-French duo saved a match point at 5:2, but in the ninth game they couldn’t broke the opponent. They saved another two match point, but the fourt chance was crucial. Hantuchova and Stosur lived with this opportunity and they advanced to the third round.
