26/05/2014 – Timi and Eric Butorac will meet the duo Janette Husarova-Oliver Marach.

The Hungarian player’s American partner was a finalist in men’s doubles with Raven Klaasen of South Africa at the Australian Open in Melbourne.


This will be Timi’s first start in Mixed Doubles.


The Hungarian player’s 33-year old American partner is ranked 32nd in doubles. His career best was 17th (08.29.2011). Butorac is a real doubles specialist. During his career he won 15 ATP tournaments in doubles. First time he celebrated in 2007. That season he won 3 events, just as in 2009 and 2011. This year he remained unbeaten with Klaasen in Memphis.


The duo of Butorac and Klaasen in the 2014 season was a semifinalist in Auckland, and Munich , while in Bucharest they reached the last eight. This year they twice won against the World No 1 duo of Bob and Mike Bryan. At the Australian Open the Butorac-Klaasen duo triumphed 7:6, 6:4, and in the Memphis final they won 6:4, 6:4.


The 39-year-old Janette Husarova is ranked 50th in the doubles world ranking. Her career best was 3rd (04.21.2003). During her career, she has won 25 WTA women’s doubles competitions. In 2002, she was a finalist in the US Open with Elena Dementieva. This year she was a semifinalist in Hobart (Co: Chan Yung Jan), while in Shenzhen (Co: Chan Yung Jan), Paris (Co: Alicja Rosolska) and Stuttgart (Co: Liezel Huber) she reached the last eight.


The 33-year old Oliver Marach is ranked 40th in doubles. His career best was 8th (10.08.2010). During his career he won 13 ATP competition in this genre, this year he remained unbeaten in Vina del Mar with Florin Mergea.
