Roland Garros 2014: defeat in Women’s Doubles

29/05/2014 – Timi and Varvara Lepchenko lost a two-set match against the 2012 Champions és 2013 finalist Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci.

The match lasted 1 hour 12 minutes. On Friday the Hungarian youngster will play in mixed doubles with Eric Butorac against Janette Husarova and Oliver Marach.

“I’m not in despair. I did well, it was more positive than negative … But my partner played no to good, she gave little help at the net, unfortunately. This is not an excuse, but I’m not sad for my part …Tomorrow came the mixed doubles, for the first time in my life. I look forward to it, it will be interesting “said Timi.

 

At the beginning of the 30-minute first set the Italians saved a break point, and after 1:1 they took the total control. Errani and Vinci broke the rival to 0, then to 30, they jumped to a 5:1 lead.

 

Then came a very long and exciting game. Timi and Lepchenko had six break points, but without success. While Errani and Vinci lived with the first opportunity and finished the game and the set.

 

At the beginning of the second set Timi and Lepchenko broke the rival to 15, then jumped to a 3:0 lead. In the third game they had a 40-0 lead and after that they won the game from 40-40.

 

But the Italians took back the control. They broke at 3:1 to 15, then they won another games for a 5:3 lead.

 

In the last game Timi and her partner had a good chance, they had a 40-15 lead. But the opponent came back and broke again…
