The Hungarian pair played in the final in Florianopolis three days ago and they fought bravely for the success at the Rio Olympics. But the opponent was the better on the court at the key moments of the match. Which could be much more close, there were real chance for it…


In the 39-minute first set Mitu and Olaru saved two break points in the opening game, and they won the opponent’s serve to 40, at 2:1…But the Hungarians came back immediately, then they equalized to 3:3. Unfortunately, after 4:3 the Romanians broke again, with the fifth chance and they finished the first act to 40.


Timi lost her serve from 40-15 in the opening game of the second set. The Romanians hold that break advantage till 3:2, when the opponent had a great chance. Timi and Réka Jani led 40-0 as a receiver, but they couldn’t lived with that opportunity. And it was crucial…


Mitu and Olaru broke Réka Jani after 4:2, and they had two match points in the next game. But Timi and her partner came back with a big fight, and they had a break point. Big chance, but without success. And the Romanian pair celebrated the victory, a few minutes later, they won the third match point.
