Quebec: new opponent for the doubles

10/09/2017 – 11/09/2017 – Timi and Hlaváčková will meet a US-pair.


On Sunday, the draw was made for the doubles at the 250 000 USD WTA Tour event in Canada: Timi and Andrea Hlaváčková could have meet Jessica Pegula and Charlotte Robillard-Millette. But on Monday, a change was revealed, so the first rival will be Usue Maitane Arconada nad Caroline Dolehide.


The Hungarian-Czech pair was seeded 1st at the Coupe Banque Nationale in Quebec City.


Arconada (born: 28 October, 1998) is 291th in the world rankings, with a career best position of 271 (17 July, 2017). The American player has so far won 1 ITF event in doubles, she remained unbeaten in 2017 at Stockton (USA, 60 000 USD, hard court, Co: Sofia Kenin). Last year, she won the Girl’s Doubles at Wimbledon with Claire Lui.


Dolehide (born: 05 September, 1998) is 134th in the WTA list, this is her career best position. The US-player has won 2 ITF tournaments, this year she remained unbeaten in Rancho Santa Fe (USA, 25 000 USD, hard court, Co: Kayla Day). She was finalist in Girl’s Doubles in 2015 at the Roland Garros (Co: Katerina Stewart) and in 2016 at the US Open (Co: Day).


Last year a Czech pair was the Champion in Quebec City: Timi’s current partner, Andrea Hlaváčková won with Lucie Hradecká. The Czech player is scheduled to enter the field in Canada with Barbora Krejčíková. On Sunday, Hradecká played in the final of the US Open with Katerina Siniaková’.
