Number 7! Timi & Shvedova won the doubles tournament

14/09/2013 – Timi and Yaroslava Shvedova confidently defeated Olga Govortsova and Mandy Minella.

The Hungarian-Kazakh duo lost only six games in the 1 hour 4 minute meeting. It’s Timi’s fifth title this year, and seventh of her WTA career.

“I am very happy with my performance today! I played well, my returns were good, I enjoyed the game. It would be nice to play a few more times with Slava, we worked well in the doubles ! Tomorrow we will fly to China, new week, new tournament, new opportunity” – Timi said.

 

There were good omens as Timi’s partner is the double Grand Slam winner Shvedova . Finally, they confidently won the tournament, no one come close the whole week the Babos-Shvedova. With superb serves and returns they played real pleasuretennis in the final! But we could celebrate this success not for long … we  must draw on the strength and confidence from that in the singles next week, in Guangzhou competition” – analyzed the coach of the 20-year-old Hungarian player, Levente Barátosi.

 

Last year Timi won in singles in Monterrey, and doubles with Hsieh Su-Wei in Birmingham. This year the young Hungarian celebrated with Minella in Bogota and Marrakech, in Florianopolis with Kimiko Date-Krumm, while in Suzhou with Michaella Krajicek.

 

Timi and Shvedova won easily in Tashkent: they had the control from the beginning of he final! In the 30-minute firs set they easily pulled away 5:1, then they suddenly lost two games to 0…Fortunately, the first seed of the Tashkent Open again won confidently the ninth game, so they won the set.

 

In the second set Timi and Shvedova pulled away again to 5:1 , and then came two games for the opponents…In the last game the Belarus and Luxembourgish player saved a match point, but Timi and Shvedova finally broke to 30, thus winning the Tashkent Open!

 

The 20-year-old Hungarian athlete next week will play in the GRC Bank Guangzhou International Women’s Open (500 000 USD ), her doubles partner will be Olga Govortsova.
