Nottingham: victory in Singles

16/06/2021 – Timi won in two sets against the Australian opponent.

The match lasted 1 hour and 21 minutes.


In the 45-minute first set, Timi defended her serve in a big battle after 1:1, with several equals, and then with that momentum broke into 15 in the fourth game. Then came the turn: Inglis won her opponent’s serve for 30 and then brought her own.


After that, the 28-year-old Hungarian player led to 40-0 in the eighth game as a receiver, but unfortunately the result was soon 4:4. It didn’t break Timi, she smoothly took the lead again and then broke for 15 again. So the second act come.


Inglis started the second set better: she lost one rally in each of the first two games, leading to 2:0. Fortunately, the match changed a lot after that! Even after 1:2 and 3:2, Timi won her opponent’s serve to 30 and then led to 5:2. In the end, the Hungarian player lost only one ball in the last game, making it into the last 16.


Timi’s next opponent will be Emma Raducanu.
