Tímea Babos, Arina Rodionova (Hungarian, Australian, 1)-Jamie Loeb, Christina McHale (USA) 6:0, 6:2

 

The match lasted 54 minutes.

 

As the overture to the 24-minute first set, Timi and her partner broke to 40 and then only lost a ball pass as a receiver in the third game. Then brought their serve from 30-40, and won the opponent’s game again, to 40.

 

In the sixth game, the American double won only one rally.

 

At the start of the second set, Timi and Rodionova broke twice to 40, while losing their serve to 0. The Hungarian-Australian double retained the advantage until 5:2, then finished the quarter-finals to 15 as a receiver.

 

Timi and Arina Rodionova will meet the 4th seeded Romanian Monica Niculescu (WTA-51) and Elena-Gabriela Ruse (WTA-201).

Emma Raducanu (British)-Tímea Babos (Hungarian, 8) 6:3, 6:3

The match lasted 1 hour and 14 minutes.

 

The 18-year old local player won in theopening round against the World No149 Storm Sanders, and caused another upset at the last16.

 

Int the 37-minute first set Raducanu broke her opponent from 40-30 at 1:1, then served very well. At 5:3 Timi 40-15, but could not won that game.

 

In the second act, Raducanu broke twice, Timi once, and that proved decisive. After that, the British player had already brought her serve, although there was a chance to translate. Raducanu saved one break ball in the 5th game and then three (0-40) after 4:2.
