14/06/2015 – Timi won in two sets against Urszula Radwanska in the first round of the qualies at the 731 000 USD WTA tournament in Birmingham.
The match lasted 73 minutes.

“What a day in the “office” !!! Yesterday our match was canceled because of rain, so today I had to play two. I won the first 6:3, 6:3 against Radwanska, and then my next match also took place in the afternoon. We left the court at 4:4 because of rain, then again two hours later we were on the pitch. We managed to reach 6:6, but then We finished for Sunday because of the bad weather. Tennis is an interesting sport … “– sayd Timi.
On Sunday Timi started well against Radwanska and she controlled the match very well. In the 40-minute opening set she saved a break point at 2:2, then she broke the Polish player at 4:3 to 30. Then Timi won her next service game to 0.
At the beginning of the second set both player lost the own serve, and after that we saw a close match. But Timi played well organized and broke her opponent after 3:3 to 30. Then the 22-year old Hungarian player broke again Radwanska at 5:3, so she finished the match.
Timi’s opponent in the second qualifying round will be Mariana Duque-Marino on Sunday afternoon.
The 25-year old Colombian player is ranked 98th, her career best was 90 (28 October 2013). So far she has won 1 WTA and 17 ITF event in singles. This season she was a semifinalist in Medellin (Colombia, 50 000 USD, clay), in Bogota (Colombia, 250 000 USD, clay) and Marseille (France, 100,000 USD, clay).
Timi already met twice this year Duque-Marino: in Monterrey she won 6:3, 6:2 in the second round of the qualifiers, while she lost 6:4, 6:7, 6:3 in the first round in Bogota.
On Sunday Timi and Duque-Marino finished at 6:6 (1-3), because of rain.
