The match lasted 1 hour 18 minutes in Montreal.
In the first 28-minute first set, Timi and Kristina Mladenovic dominated the quarter-final: they pulled to a 5:1 lead, breaking of their opponents twice. Then two more breaks came in, the 3rd ranked pair won the opponent’s serve to 30.
In the 38-minute second act, Melichar and Peschke have been greatly improved as servers and receivers. The US-Czech pair broke Timi and Mladenovic from 40-0…In the fourth game, the Hungarian-French pair had two break points, but without success.
Then, after 5:3, Melichar and Peschke closed the set with another break, this time to 15.
In the decisive tie-break, Timi and her French partner lost their serves a total of four times, so they had no real chance of going further.
