A match lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes in Miami.
The Hungarian-French pair was the favorite, but the had two excellent players as opponents. Barty is ranked 20th in singles and 13th in doubles, and played four Grand Slam finals in doubles. Vandeweghe is ranked 16th in singles, and had two semifinals in doubles at the US Open.
Int he 30-minute first set, the Australian-American pair led 2:0, but after that Timi and Mladenovic played better. The fourth seeds broke the opponent to 40 in the third game, and to 15 after 3:3. At the end of the opening act, Timi and Mladenovic broke their opponent to 40, so they finished the first set.
At the beginning of the second act, both pair won their own games, but after 2:2, came th ebig change. In the next three games, Barty and Vandeweghe lost a total of four rallies, they broke the fourt seeds twice to 15. In the last game, the Australian-American pair hold the serve to 0.
Unfortunately, the decisive tie-break was also one-sided. Timi and Mladenovic came back from 0-3 to 3-4, but after that, they won only one rally. The Hungarian-French team lost their serve a total of four times…
