Miami 2014: defeat in the singles qualifying

17/03/2014 – World No 108 Tímea Babos lost in two sets against Luksika Kumkhum in the first round of the qualies of the Sony Open Tennis in Miami.

The match lasted one hour and 16 minutes.

The 20-year-old Hungarian player started badly in a 35-minute first set, immediately lost her service game to 30. Her contemporary was preserved her and at 3:2 she saved a break point. Unfortunately, this proved to be decisive , because in the next game Timi again lost her serve after a great battle. After saving two break point…Then Kumkhum won the next game to 0.

 

At the beginning of the second set Timi broke her Thai rival, but after 2:0 she couldn’t hold her service game. After 3:3 the Thai youngster again broke her opponent after a big battle, to 40. Then she jumped to a 5:3 lead.

 

Timi came back to 5:4, but in the last game she had no chance . Luksika Kumkhum lost no point in the 10th game…

 

The Hungarian player will start in doubles with the Serbian Jelena Jankovic.
