10/03/2017 – Varvara Lepchenko won in three sets against Yaroslava Shvedova.

 

All matches finished in the first round at the 7 669 423 USD WTA event at Indian Wells, so it was decided, who will be Timi’s opponent in the second round. Varvara Lepchenko won 4:6, 6:2, 6:4 against Yaroslava Shvedova. So Timi will meet Lepchenko.

 

The 30-year old American player in ranked 88th, her caeer best position was 19 (1 October 2012). Lepchenko has won 11 ITF singles competition. This year she reached the second round in Auckland (New Zealand, 250 000 USD, hard court) and at the Australian Open. She was quarter-finalist in Midland (United States, 100 000 USD, indoor).

 

Timi defeated Lepchenko in 2012 in Cincinnati 7:6, 6:4, and in 2013 in Guangzhou 7:6, 7:5.
