Hungary-Bosnia 3-0: Timi won in singles and doubles

08/02/2013 – The Hungarian women’s tennis team won 3-0 against Bosnia in Eilat at the Fed Cup  Euro-African Zone Group I at the second round of Group B.

 

Greta Arn won easily this time, and then came Tímea Babos, who won in singles and doubles with Katalin Marosi.

Timi easily won the first set in singles and then led 3:1 in the second. Then suddenly got a chance the 556th ranked Simic. The 20-year-settled to 5:5 and again took her opponent’s serve.

 

Fortunately, in the 12th game of the second set Timi won after saving set point. In the tie-break the Hungarian player led 6-2, when Simic suddenly won three points in a row. But after all Timi celebrated the victory.

 

Unlike the opening day Levente Barátosi (coach of Timi and the Fed Cup team) chose Katalin Marosi and Timi for the doubles. The pair won easily, but the real test will come in the final Round-rubin match. The British team will be the opponent.  Interestingly, the best British player, Heather Watson lost 6:1, 6:4 against Michelle Larcher de Brito (Portugal), who was defeated by Timi on Thursday.
